Doctorlink

We have been looking at how we can improve access to Practice services; DoctorLink is our new online service where you can:

Access advice on your symptoms- Sign-up is simple and you can create an account here: https://app.doctorlink.com/ashvillemedicalpractice/register

The symptom assessment will ask you a number of questions to help to identify your problem.

The outcome of your assessment will direct you to the right treatment, whether emergency care, your GP, nurse or self-care.

The information you provide will be shared with our clinical team (where appropriate) and will assist in providing robust information of your problem to the required clinical team member to assess the next steps if applicable.

FLU VACCINATIONS                flu

This year with COVID-19 circulating, flu vaccinations are more important than ever, and are being provided to those most at risk of serious illness if they contract flu or COVID-19. Patients aged 50-64 years old without any other existing illnesses have also been included in the cohort this year, as 50 is the age at which the risk of hospitalisations for COVID-19 sharply increase, which justifies increasing protection against flu.

If you are eligible for a flu vaccination please contact the surgery on 01226 729860 between 10am and 12pm and 3pm and 5pm to make an appointment. Having the flu vaccination is more important than ever this year.

Please be ready for your vaccination with your coat/jacket removed and your arm ready for vaccinating to keep the clinics moving smoothly- thank you for your cooperation in advance

Corona Virus Vaccine

The corona virus vaccine will be given across 3 sites in Barnsley- Priory Campus Lundwood, Goldthorpe Medical Centre, Apollo Court Dodworth.

You will require 2 vaccinations 3 weeks apart.

Patient Eligibility Criteria

Vaccinations are currently only available for patients aged 80 years and over and not had any allergic reactions resulting in anaphylaxis, hospital admission or being prescribed Epipen, Jext or Emerade.

Patients aged 80 years and over with a bleeding disorder or on an anticoagulant will require review by a GP first, before any appointments are booked, to ensure it is safe for you to have the vaccination. The practice will be in contact with these patients in due course.

Please note: Ashville Medical Practice do not control the availability of the appointment slots and locations, and can only book into available appointment slots. Ashville Medical Practice will contact you when there are appointments available. Please do not contact the surgery
